I recently rented a movie called "Imagine That" (2009), starring Eddie Murphy and young actress, Yara Shahidi. It was about a little girl, Olivia, who carries around her blanket everywhere, and talks to her imaginary friends through it. Eddie Murphy plays her father, a bigtime financial executive whose career is his main priority. His ex-wife asks him to take Olivia for a few days, and at first it isnt fun for either of them. Olivia wants to have fun with her father, but he is too busy for her and more of a disturbance than a pleasant guest. One night while Olivia is near her father and with her magical blanket, she calls it goo-ga. Through her blanket, she travels to a magical world and is close with princesses. The princess's give her advice about the companies her dad is dealing with. Once her dad realizes the information these imaginary princesses are telling him are proving to be true, he becomes hungry for more of the information everyday. Throughout the movie, he forms a relationship with his daughter and has fun, while advancing in his career. At the end of the movie, he was offered a higher position, and commended for choosing time with his daughter rather than being at the companies disposal whenever and whereever.
This movie was so cute! It's filled with laughs for all ages. I enjoyed watching the father-daughter relationship form through sillyness and imagination. The names of the princesses were very amusing also! If you're ever looking for a happy, feel good movie, you might consider renting this one! :)
i loved this movie too :) very cute. However, I dislike eddie murphy, I feel like he is so conceited. But he's a good actor and i couldn't help but enjoy this movie.
